【摘要】:Bothsuppliersandusersofmetalscanbenefitfromknowledgeofthesurfaceareaofthesematerials.Resultsofmanyintermediateandfinalprocessingstepsarecontrolledby,orrelatedto,specificsurfaceareaofthemetal.Theperformanceofmanysinteredorcastmetalstructuresmaybepredictedfromthespecificsurfaceareaofthestartingmetalpowder,oralloraportionofthefinishedpiece.1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationofsurfaceareaofmetalpowders.Thetestmethodspecifiesgeneralproceduresthatareapplicabletomanycommercialphysicaladsorptioninstruments.Themethodprovidesspecificsampleoutgassingproceduresforlistedmaterials.Itincludesadditionalgeneraloutgassinginstructionsforothermetals.ThemultipointequationofBrunauer,EmmettandTeller(BET),alongwiththesinglepointapproximationoftheBETequation,formsthebasisforallcalculations.1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotincludeallexistingproceduresappropriateforoutgassingmetallicmaterials.Theproceduresincludedprovidedacceptableresultsforsamplesanalyzedduringinterlaboratorytesting.Theinvestigatorshalldeterminetheappropriatenessoflistedprocedures.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.3.1StateallnumericalvaluesintermsofSIunitsunlessspecificinstrumentationsoftwarereportssurfaceareausingalternateunits.Inthiscase,presentbothreportedandequivalentSIunitsinthefinalwrittenreport.Manyinstrumentsreportsurfaceareaasm2/g,insteadofusingcorrectSIunits(m2/kg).1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
