【摘要】:Thispracticecoversthepreparation,testing,andprocedureforusingtheacidicaqueoussilverdichromatedosimetrysystemtomeasureabsorbeddoseinwaterwhenexposedtoionizingradiation.Thesystemconsistsofadosimeterandappropriateanalyticalinstrumentation.Forsimplicity,thesystemwillbereferredtoasthedichromatesystem.Itisclassifiedasareferencestandarddosimetrysystem(seeGuideE1261).Thepracticedescribesthespectrophotometricanalysisproceduresforthedichromatesystem.Thispracticeappliesonlyto[gamma]rays,xrays,andhigh-energyelectrons.Thispracticeappliesprovidedthefollowingconditionsaresatisfied:Theabsorbeddoserangeisfrom2X10to5X10Gy.Theabsorbeddoseratedoesnotexceed600Gy/pulsewithapulserepetitionratenottoexceed12.5Hz,ordoesnotexceedanequivalentdoserateof7.5kGy/sfromcontinuoussources(1).Forradionuclidegamma-raysources,theinitialphotonenergyshallbegreaterthan0.6MeV.Forbremsstrahlungphotons,theinitialenergyoftheelectronsusedtoproducethebremsstrahlungphotonsshallbeequaltoorgreaterthan2MeV.Forelectronbeams,theinitialelectronenergyshallbegreaterthan8MeV.Note1-Thelowerenergylimitsgivenareappropriateforacylindricaldosimeterampouleof12mmdiameter.Correctionsfordosegradientsacrossanampouleofthatdiameterorlessarenotrequired.Thedichromatesystemmaybeusedatlowerenergiesbyemployingthinner(inthebeamdirection)dosimetercontainers(seeICRUReport35).Theirradiationtemperatureofthedosimetershallbeabove0?Candshouldbebelow80?C.Note2-Thetemperaturecoefficientofdosimeterresponseisknownonlyintherangeof20?to50?C(see10.1.8).Useoutsidethisrangeisnotrecommended.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecifichazardstatementsaregiveninNote6.
